Courtney W. Brame He/Him

As founder of Something Positive for Positive People combines his expertise as a 500-hour registered yoga teacher with his passion for destigmatizing herpes. Through SPFPP, he offers restorative yoga and meditation in support groups, enhancing holistic well-being for those living with herpes. As the host of the SPFPP podcast, Courtney shares inspiring stories of individuals navigating herpes stigma. He extends his advocacy to sexual health education and STD prevention, promoting stigma-free communication among healthcare providers and organizations. Driven to create a world where herpes discussions are empowering and stigma-free, Courtney's work at SPFPP is reshaping sexual health dialogue, offering a blend of wellness practices and empathetic advocacy to build a more understanding community.

Dr. Evelin Dacker She/Her

Dr. Dacker is a Board-Certified Integrative and Holistic Family Physician who specializes in sexual health and consent. Her unique approach to wellness incorporates pleasure as an important aspect for healing trauma and illness. In addition to practicing medicine, she was the Executive Director of SexPositive Portland from 2018-2020. She teaches other health care providers on sex-positivity, destigmatizing STIs, and having a more open attitude toward alternative sexual practices and relationship styles. In addition, she holds workshops on consent and sexual communication geared toward young adults to reduce sexual assault on college campuses.

Dr. Ina Park She/Her

Ina Park is a Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UCSF School of Medicine. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the California Prevention Training Center and Medical Consultant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-Division of STD Prevention. Ina was a co-author of the 2021 CDC STI Treatment Guidelines and a contributor to the first Federal STI Strategic Plan (2021-2025). Ina's passion is empowering others around the topics of sexual health and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). She is the author of the book Strange Bedfellows: Adventures in the Science, History and Surprising Secrets of STDs, and her writing has appeared in The New York Times and Scientific American.

 

Dr. Amber Sophus She/Her

Dr. Sophus is a Social and Behavioral scientist and Consultant, devoted to advancing HIV/STI prevention and sexual health. Her primary focus is on reducing HIV disparities among Black women in the Southern United States. She is passionate about improving awareness and uptake of biomedical strategies for HIV prevention, particularly pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Additionally, her research endeavors extend to enhancing sexual health and well-being among women, with a specific emphasis on the impact of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) and the intersection between HIV and HSV. Dr. Sophus aims to increase awareness about HSV, combat stigma, encourage disclosure, and facilitate access to tailored mental health resources for individuals living with the virus.

Jordan D’Nelle Jones She/Her

Jordan D’Nelle is a Physician Associate and Women’s Sexual Health Educator and Intimacy Coach. She is the Founder of the Vaginas, Vulvas, and Vibrators Podcast. Her goal is to raise awareness about conditions, sexuality, sexual intimacy and relationships that specifically affect women. She wants to help normalize women’s health and create a safe space for women to feel validated. She has been featured in Cosmopolitan magazine and multiple podcasts.

Elyse Myers She/Her

Elyse is a global Health Recruitment Consultant with 20+ years of experience in 40 countries recruiting epidemiologists, virologists, doctors, and other key personnel for health projects. Her work and passion is in infectious disease and sexual/reproductive health. She has significant experience recruiting for projects funded by USAID, CDC, PEPFAR, Global Fund, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Merck, and other private foundations. Her expertise is in public health and infectious disease — COVID-19 (COVAX Vaccine Delivery), HIV, TB, Ebola, Influenza, Malaria, and Polio; and reproductive health/family planning, and vaccine development.
