November 19-22, Alexandria, VA - NCSD's (National Coalition of STD Directors) Annual Meeting is the only national meeting that brings together state and local STD prevention and sexual health professionals, and their community-based partners and allies! Our registration fee and flight to the event has been covered. Something Positive for Positive People will be recording three live podcasts and presenting the below abstract on how a podcast can be used as a means of psychosocial support for those struggling with an STI diagnosis like herpes. The event consists of public health professionals.

The goal of our attendance is to create long-lasting partnerships in this community in order to potentially get funding to increase the quality of the podcast, uplift sex educators and get therapy for those struggling with their positive diagnosis. Finding resources like SPFPP is challenging. Creating connections in this space will help get resources to the people who need it most a little bit sooner. Our goal is to raise $1,000 for the Airbnb, travel back and forth to the airport/conference once in town, physical materials for the presenting and all the food!!! Options to donate can be found on the homepage. If you don’t see an option that works for you, contact me at courtney@spfpp.org and we’ll get it figured out!
